Henry "Hank" Harrison Hawley
Jul 18, 1939 — Jul 8, 2026
Henry "Hank" Harrison Hawley, 86, passed away peacefully at his home in Hardeeville, South Carolina, on July 8, 2026, with his loving family by his side.
Hank was born on July 18, 1939, in Seattle, Washington, to Don and Anna Hawley. He lived a life defined by love, service, laughter and adventure. Above all else, Hank was immensely proud of his family and treasured every moment spent with them. He was also a loyal friend to many, leaving a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Lynda Hawley; his son, Dan Hawley; his daughters, Karen Hawley and Kristan Hawley- Hamilton (Eryck); his son, Dion Hawley (Danielle); six amazing grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Yvonne Kresal; his brother-in-law, Gerald Kresal; and a cherished nephew and niece of North Plains, Oregon.
Hank was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Anna Hawley, as well as two brothers and two sisters.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Hank served from 1964 to 1966, including service in Vietnam and the Third Special Forces Unit. He carried the values of honor, courage and dedication with him throughout his life.
Following his military service, Hank built a successful career with Schrader Automotive Corporation, where he served as National Sales Manager. He was respected for his integrity, loyalty and genuine care for both his clients and the salespeople he mentored. He loved traveling throughout his territory, building lasting relationships and never met a stranger.
To his family, Hank was affectionately know as the "Activities Director". Whether it was camping under the stars, hiking scenic trails, or setting off on spontaneous road trips to discover quirky roadside attractions, he was always planning the next adventure. He had remarkable ability to turn an ordinary day into and unforgettable memory.
Hanks quick wit, warm smile, and infectious sense of humor brightened every room he entered. He had a gift for making people laugh, bringing them together, and reminding them to enjoy life's journey. He lived life to the fullest, embracing every opportunity with enthusiasm, curiosity and gratitude.
Although our hearts are broken, we find comfort in the countless memories he gave us and the legacy of love, laughter, and adventure that he leaves behind. He was truly one of a kind and he will be deeply missed every single day.
We are so grateful for the wonderful care of Agape Hospice and his special nurse. They were here with us through every step of his journey.
Forever loved. Forever remembered. Never forgotten.
