Joan Vaupel

Joan Vaupel, age 88, of Beaufort SC died unexpectedly on August 10, 2026 at her residence in Beaufort. Joan was born June 29, 1938 in Brooklyn NY. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ronald Vaupel and her parents Max and Shirley Yaeger. She is survived by her two sons Billy and Bobby, Her two siblings Dorothy and Marty four grandchildren, Billy, Sal, Joey, Leah and nieces and nephews.

Joan worked for the Navy Exchange in Human Resources. After retirement, she volunteered around Beaufort, SC where she resided for over forty years. Joan enjoyed playing bingo and hosted many games at home with her friends. She enjoyed dining out and loved going on trips to Disney World. Mom loved the ranch owned by her son Bobby and his wife Merle. She particularly loved their hen, Fluffy. Merle made Joan meals with LOVE ❤️.

There will be no service remembrance announced at this time. We express our heartfelt gratitude to all hospital medical staff, hospice workers and most of all to Joan's daughter in-law Mae for her relentless and unwavering devotion and loving care.
