Margie “Ginni” Williamson Place - March 13, 1943 – October 5, 2026

Margie “Ginni” Williamson Place, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and entertainer of lives, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2026, in Beaufort, SC.

Born in Columbia, SC in 1943, Ginni was the daughter of the late Margie Banks Williamson and Marion Osborn Williamson. She was raised in Orangeburg, SC, where her vibrant personality and love of people began to shine.

Ginni worked as a paralegal for the federal government. She also owned and operated her own hair salon in Michigan.

Ginni loved music, singing, her family, her children, her grandsons, and her many friends. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a gift for bringing laughter and joy to those around her. She will be remembered for her lively spirit, her love of music, and the many memories she created with the people she loved.

Ginni is survived by her daughter, Susanne Douglas, and son-in-law, Mark Douglas; her grandsons Van Douglas, Jakob Place, and Tristan Place; her sisters Susanne Branham (Wayne) and Martha Broaddus (John); and many cherished nieces, nephews, and friends who were blessed to know her.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jon Scott Place, and her sister, Beverly Gibbons (Mac).

A memorial service will be held during the holiday season with family and friends.
