Barry Flynn Marko

Barry Flynn Marko, 80, of Summerville, SC, passed away on August 24, 2026.

Barry was born on November 06, 1945 in Perth Amboy, NJ to Alexander and Leokadia Marko. He had a modest upbringing with his 6 siblings, attended and graduated from Metuchen High School. He worked for Bamberger's/Macy's Department Store for over 35 years until retirement brought him to Summerville, SC.

Throughout his life, Barry was known for his kindness, humility and generosity. He enjoyed walking the nature trails near his home, actively participating in The Topps Club and Senior Center, and spending time with family. He will be remembered for his profound love for his cats and for all animals, as well as his devotion to family.

Barry is survived by his sister Linda Grande, brother Richard Marko, sister Sandra Daniels, and brother Stephen Marko as well as 7 nieces and nephews and 8 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Leokadia Marko, father Alexander Marko, brother Alex (Butch) Marko and brother Mark Marko.

A memorial will be held on Friday, September 11 2026 at 11:00 AM at Summerville Baptist Church, 417 Central Ave., Summerville, SC 29483.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Dorchester Paws or Summerville Baptist Church.
