Chester (Chet) Bowmar Harshbarger age 87 of North Charleston, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at home on January 2, 2026, surrounded by his children. Chet was born August 24, 1938, to the late Herbert & Neva Harshbarger Sr. in Westernport, Maryland. Chet is proceeded in death by his wife Doris Avant Harshbarger, his 3 brothers Emmett Harshbarger, Herbert Harshbarger Jr, and Donald Harshbarger both of Akron Ohio.

Chet is survived by his children Neva Harshbarger, Jack (Claire) Hardick, Jamie (Brenda) Hardick as well as his grandchildren and great grandchildren, Chessie (Ella & Olivia) Harshbarger, Jamie (Savannah & Annabell) Hardick II, Tisha & Phillip (Kayla & Jayden) Cummings. Along with several nieces and nephews in Ohio.

Chet was an Air Force veteran who after his service worked for and retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard where he worked on nuclear submarines. Chet was known for fixing anything and everything with which he turned into a successful maintenance and repair business, Call N Fix. Chet was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Poppah will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Arrangements made by Simplicity of Ladson and a graveside service will be held 10 am January 6, 2026, at Carolina Memorial Gardens in North Charleston, SC
