Dana Hinson Winger
May 9, 1968 — May 23, 2026
Dana Hinson Winger, a soul whose warmth touched the lives of many, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at the age of 58. Born on May 9, 1968, in Charleston, South Carolina. Dana grew up surrounded by the love of her family and carried that love throughout her life with grace and kindness.
Dana is the daughter of the late James Hinson and Ethel Kibbe, Dana’s spirit and values were shaped by the foundation they gave her. From her earlier years, Dana shared special moments working alongside her mother at Piggly Wiggly, an experience that blossomed into a lifelong dedication of serving people. Eventually, she found her true calling as a cosmetologist, where her talent and caring nature won the hearts of many clients who admired not just her skill, but the genuine affection she showed with every client.
Dana’s passions went beyond her profession. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—camping under the stars, boating, immersing herself in music that moved her soul, and cheering for her beloved Clemson Tigers. These were only a few of the threads that wove the vibrant tapestry of her life, reflecting a person who lived with enthusiasm and love.
Among those who carry her memory forward, Dana is survived by her husband, Frank Winger, whose companionship meant the world to her, and her step-son, Cameron Winger, who grew under her love and care. Beyond blood, Dana was blessed to have countless family members and friends that she considered family, which is a testament to her never-ending kindness and ability to uplift and connect to those around her.
She always had an infectious smile that brightened any room. Dana’s willingness to meet others where they were—offering help without hesitation or judgment—will always be remembered by those who knew her. Her spirit and kindness were beacons of light in both joyous and challenging times.
The family wishes to express their overwhelming gratitude to the remarkable circle of friends who provided unwavering support during this time of loss, which is a testament to the community Dana cherished deeply.
A service and celebration of Dana’s life will be held at the Rockspond Campground Pavilion, located at 108 Campground Road, Eutawville, SC (https://www.google.com/maps/search/108+Campground+Road,+Eutawville,+SC?entry=gmail&source=g), on June 6, 2026 at 6 pm. It will be a time to honor her memory and reflect on the love and joy she brought into the world.
Though Dana is no longer with us, her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched and the legacy she leaves behind. Those who knew her will remember a woman whose life was a picture of kindness, strength, and joy—a true blessing to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
