George W Wootton

George W. Wootton, 70, of North Charleston, SC, passed away at his home on Sunday, June 7, 2026. 

Born on January 1, 1956 in Saluda, SC, George was the son of Thomas and Grace Wootton. He was a devoted father and grandfather whose love and kindness was with everyone who knew him. 

He is survived by his three daughters, Angela, Rosanne(Rose), and Elizabeth (Liz). His grandchildren Dillon, Julia, Lilly, Liam, Cheyenne, Isaiah, Brianna, and Alexandrya. He is also survived by his siblings, Shirley, Ola, Thomas (TJ), Harvey, Wayne and Cathy. Also many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. George was a Veteran. He served his country in the Navy for many years. 

He earned -Wildlife and Forestry Conservation Diploma in Scranton, Pennsylvania-1987 -Class "C" School, Food Production Principles Service School Command, US Navy, San Diego, California -1982 -Records and Return Class US Navy, Charleston, South Carolina -1981 -High School Diploma, State of Florida High School -1978.

He was known for the love of his country, love of his children, love of his faith, love of his family and friends. Also the love of his beloved cat, Sweet Pea He was married to Elise M Wootton from 1978 to 1995.

George was retired and spent his time painting and gardening (his plants), watching tv and with his friends. He was blessed by faith and love. He will be greatly missed and loved by all. His memories will live on in the stories to be told and the love in the hearts of all who knew him, forever.
