Judith Ann Perry
Apr 15, 1945 — Oct 3, 2026
Judith “Judy” Ann Perry, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the age of 81.
To know Judy was to know a woman who loved deeply, gave generously, and found joy in the simple things that made life special. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories, countless acts of kindness, and a love that will continue to live in the hearts of all who knew her.
Born on April 15, 1945, Judy was the oldest of eight children to the late D. Burnette and Charlotte Ahl. She was raised in Ridgeville, SC and spent her early years working alongside her family on the farm. Those early years helped shape the hardworking, giving, and dependable woman she would become.
In 1968, Judy married the love of her life, Roger Perry Sr. Together they shared 58 years of marriage – a beautiful life built on love, friendship, faith, laughter, and devotion. They made Ridgeville their home and raised their daughter and son there. Judy and Roger loved to travel and made many wonderful memories along the way, but some of their favorite journeys were to the mountains. There was something about the peace and beauty of the mountains that brought them joy.
Judy was a woman who never minded hard work. She spent many years working in the school cafeteria for Dorchester District 4, where she served children and teachers with the same care and kindness she showed to those she loved at home. She eventually retired, but she never really stopped taking care of people.
Judy found happiness in the things that made a house feel like home. She loved to crochet and cross-stitch and was gifted with her hands and her creativity. She loved cooking, and anyone who knew Judy knew there was always room at her table. She loved feeding people, caring for people, and making people feel welcome. Whether she was cooking for family, friends, her church family, or someone in the community who simply needed a helping hand, Judy gave from the heart.
After retirement, some of her greatest joys were spending time with her grandchildren, traveling, and crafting. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought a special kind of happiness into her life, and the memories they made together will be treasured forever.
But above all else, Judy loved her Lord. Her faith was not simply something she spoke about – it was woven into the way she lived her life. In her younger years, she faithfully served her church through the choir, ladies fellowship, and youth group. She loved her church family and treasured the fellowship, prayers, visits, and phone calls that continued throughout the later years of her life.
Judy had a way of making people feel loved. She gave without expecting anything in return. She welcomed people into her home, shared what she had, listened when someone needed to talk, and made room for others at her table and in her heart. Her kindness was genuine, her laughter was memorable, and her love for her family was unwavering.
She will be deeply missed – not only for all the things she did, but simply for who she was. Her family will miss her presence, her voice, her cooking, her stories, her laughter, and the comfort of knowing she was there. They will miss the ordinary moments that now feel so precious; sitting together, sharing a meal, talking on the phone, visiting, traveling, and simply being together.
Judy leaves behind a beautiful legacy of faith, family, generosity, and love. The lessons she taught, the memories she created, and the love she gave so freely will continue through the generations that follow her.
Judy is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Roger Perry Sr.; daughter, Michell (Patrick); and son, Roger Jr. (Gwen). She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Brittany (Sawyer), Cody (Becca), Ryan (Tabitha), Tayler (Justin), and Trenton; along with five great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her heart.
She is also survived by her six sisters, Elaine Mosier (Randy), Carolyn Price, Charleen “Mitzy” All, Cathy Thornton (Quenton), Barbara “Bunny” Vance (Arnold), Claire Grant (Don), her sister-in-love, Stella Veronee; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Judy was predeceased by her parents, Burnett and Charlotte Ahl; her brother, Burnette (Bubba) Ahl Jr.; sister-in-law, Pat Ahl; brothers-in-law, Greg All and Frank Price; and nephews, Troy Stanley and Bryan All.
Though our hearts are broken by her passing, we find comfort in knowing that Judy is now in the presence of the Lord she loved and served so faithfully. We can imagine her welcomed home with open arms, free from pain and surrounded by the peace she longed for.
Her earthly journey is complete, but her story does not end there.
Judy’s love will live on in her husband, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, her sisters and extended family, her church family, and the many friends and neighbors whose lives she touched. She was deeply loved. She will be deeply missed. And she will never be forgotten.
