Kathleen Lois Paige King “Mamacita”

6/24/1952 – 8/30/2026

Williamson, NY / Summerville, SC

August 30, 2026 stole one of the good ones. Born in Upstate (NOT “Western”) New York, Mama was one of eight in a modest, rural farming family. She was raised on wit & grit, lessons & love. Kathy passed those traits on while raising her three children, Jeff (Erin, Jake & Allison), Shannon (Kyle, Kylie & Haley) and James (Kristen), alongside their dad, Mike.

Mamacita spent over 25 years professionally dedicating herself to teaching & guiding “troubled” youth. She would have told you that they just needed a different kind of love. That’s what she gave them, and she was right….that was exactly what they needed. That part of her story was just the beginning of her leaving her mark on others. Manama had a knack for finding those who needed that different kind of love, and she gave it…wholeheartedly.

Mama loved nothing more than to laugh….or maybe to make others laugh (oftentimes at her own expense!). She cherished her friends beyond measure. She loved with all she was (and then some). She leaves behind, for all of us to share, her undeniable, vivacious gift of laughter & light, of happiness & all the treasured memories. She truly was a WHOLE lot, in one tiny package!

Please join us as we honor Mamacita with a Memorial & Celebration of Life on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at one of her favorite places, The Dorchester Boat Club (148 Old Dorchester Trail, Summerville, SC 29485). Service from 1:00 – 2:00pm, Celebration of Life (Mamacita-Style) beginning at 3:00pm.
