Louis Alacci

Jun 21, 1956 — Jun 22, 2026

Louis "Lou" Alacci, 70, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones in Summerville, South Carolina on June 22, 2026. He was a treasured father, grandpa, and friend, and his presence is already deeply missed.

Born to the late Luigi "Lou" and Bernice (Maloney) Alacci in the Bronx, New York and raised in River Vale, New Jersey, Lou’s hard work ethic started early and continued throughout his life. As a lifelong electrical engineer, he had truly been born wired, yet he settled into a retirement in South Carolina where his happiness was found sitting in the sun right next to the pool.

Two of Lou’s greatest passions were NASCAR and family. He journeyed to attend 35 Indianapolis 500 Races with lifelong friends who became family. His daughters were the only two lucky enough to call him Dad, but he was a well-respected father figure to many. Lou will be remembered as a man of few words, a booming laugh, and the most giving soul.

Lou is survived by his chosen life partner, Gail Farley; his daughters, Brittany Alacci and boyfriend Sean Carney and Jillian McGonigle and husband Adam; grandchildren, Griffin and Islarose McGonigle; step-children, Erin Truslowe and husband Rob, Joseph Farley and wife Amanda, and Kristopher Farley and wife Rachel; step-grandchildren, Landon Truslowe and Colton Farley; and his siblings, Bob Alacci and wife Honora, Patti Frese, and Kathie Giovennetti and husband Bob, as well as nieces, nephews, and friends.

Celebration of life luncheon to be planned. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Heart Association in Lou’s memory. We also invite you to share your own photos and memories in the online guestbook to help us celebrate his life…and stuff.
