Marsha A. Strickland
Apr 11, 1974 — Oct 4, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Marsha Strickland, beloved wife of 27 years, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, who passed away on October 4, 2026, at the age of 52.
Marsha will be remembered for her sense of humor, her laughter, and most of all, the love she had for her family. She was happiest spending time with the people she loved, and those who knew her best will remember the fun she brought to ordinary moments, the stories and laughter she shared, and the many memories made simply by being together.
Marsha is survived by her loving husband, Greg Strickland; son, Layne Strickland; beloved granddaughter, Analynn Wright; mother, Sharon Valicek; her sisters, Alicia Fletcher and Melissa Iman; brother, Ryan Woodward (Robin), grandmother, Vera Woodward and many family members and friends who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her cherished son, Frederick Chase Wright, whose recent passing brought an unimaginable sorrow to her life, and by her fathers, Gary Long and Michael Woodward, both of whom she also lost far too soon.
Marsha knew the tremendous pain of saying goodbye to people she loved. While our hearts are now broken by having to say goodbye to her, we find comfort in our faith and in believing that the pain and grief she carried are now gone. She now is at peace and surrounded by Chase, her fathers, and so many loved ones who went before her.
We will remember Marsha not for the losses she endured, but for the life she lived—the laughter, the fun, the love she gave her family, and the memories she leaves with each of us. Her love lives on through her family and especially through the generations that follow her.
Her place in our family can never be filled, and she will be loved and missed more than words can express. Our faith gives us hope that love does not end here, and that one day, the goodbyes that have broken our hearts will become hellos again.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association in Marsha’s honor. Your contribution will help support the fight against heart disease and serve as a meaningful tribute to her memory.
