In Loving Memory Naomi Lorene “Lori” Gibson-Lindfors February 22, 1978 – October 16, 2026

Naomi Lorene “Lori” Gibson-Lindfors, 48, of Summerville, South Carolina, passed away on October 16, 2026.

Lori was born on February 22, 1978, in Charleston, South Carolina, to Anna Gibson and William Boyd Gibson. She was raised in the Jedburg community of Summerville, South Carolina, and graduated from Summerville High School, where she was a proud Green Wave. Her summers were spent in Marlington, West Virginia, where she developed a lifelong love of the mountains.

From an early age, Lori was a spirited firecracker. She was a true Southern country girl who loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. She also loved the world of pageantry, where she wore a crown with grace and joy. An avid sports lover, she enjoyed both football and baseball, and she was a devoted Carolina Gamecocks fan. Her love of pageants and sports later led her behind the camera, where she became a photographer for pageants, sports, and special events.

In the Gibson family, cooking was a tradition of love and comfort. Through the years, Lori shared Grandma Gibson’s treasured recipes with friends and family, honoring her beloved grandmother and keeping her memory alive at every table. Whenever a red cardinal appeared, Lori believed it was her grandmother watching over her.

Above all, Lori was a devoted wife and mother with a generous, giving spirit. She had a gift for making others feel loved, supported, and valued, and she often put the needs of others before her own. Through her volunteer work, her pageant community, and her many friendships, she touched countless lives.

Lori is survived by her husband of more than 16 years, Frank Lindfors; her twins, Gibson Wayne Lindfors and Stella Gladys Lindfors, of Summerville; her daughters, Emily Lindfors of Walterboro, South Carolina, and Lauren Lindfors of Wilson, North Carolina; her stepdaughters, Katherine “Katie” Sessums and Gracie Lindfors, both of Wilson, North Carolina; her mother, Anna Gibson of Jedburg, South Carolina; her father, William Boyd Gibson; her sister, Olivia Knight; her brother, Hoot Gibson; and her grandfather, Robert Martin.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Hoot and Naomi Gibson; her maternal grandmother, Lorene Martin; her younger sister, Marie Gibson; and her parentsin-law, Russell and Sharon Lindfors.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at The Ridge Church, 2168 Ridge Church Road, Summerville, South Carolina. Family and friends are invited to gather and share a time of fellowship. Guests are asked to bring a covered dish, as well as any photographs of Lori they wish to share.

In keeping with her wishes, Lori’s ashes will be laid to rest in July 2027, during the Gibson family reunion, in the Gibson Family Cemetery in Marlington, West Virginia. There she will rest among the mountains she so dearly loved, beside her grandparents, Hoot and Naomi.

A GoFundMe has been set up to help Frank and the children with whatever they may need in the days ahead. Contributions may be made at www.gofundme.com/f/honoring-lorisbeautiful-life.
