Paul James Tyler died on September 3rd, 2026 in Goose Creek, SC at 81 years old. Paul is survived by his wife, Rosetta James Tyler, his niece and goddaughter Tanya Underwood (and husband Ken Underwood), his niece Heather Kitner (and husband Steve Kitner), his nephew Robert McConnell (and wife Cary McConnell), his brother-in-law Bruce McConnell, his sister-in-law Shirley McConnell, his great nieces Ashley Underwood, Kaylee McConnell, and Candace Kitner, and his great nephew Matthew Kitner. Paul was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on July 3rd, 1945 to his father, Ralph Tyler and loving mother Evelyn Tyler. He fell in love with Rosetta James Tyler, and they were married in 1971. After their marriage, Paul went on to serve in the Airforce and attend college to become an Electrical Engineer. Throughout his career, Paul worked with companies like Westing House and Siemens. Even though Paul was an incredibly hard worker, he was also a very dedicated and loving husband. Paul and Rosetta lived together in Pennsylvania for several years following their marriage. They eventually moved to Winter Springs, FL where they resided for a majority of their adult life. One thing that Paul cherished more than anything was the love of his life and their family together. Paul deeply cherished the relationship with his mother-in-law, Gladys James, and father-in-law, Joseph James, as they were a monumental part of his life. Paul and Rosetta lovingly cared for Gladys and Joseph in their later years. Paul was close friends and loved spending time with his brothers-in-law Bruce McConnell and George James and often spent time together fishing, boating, hunting, and taking trips. Although Paul did not have biological children, he was a wonderful Uncle to many of his family members and friends’ children. Throughout his life, Paul and Rosetta traveled to many different places together like Mexico, Norway, the Grand Canyon, the Bahamas, Jamaica, St. Maarten, etc. One of Paul’s favorite places to go was Hawaii where he traveled to several times with Rosetta and other members of his family. Along with traveling and taking cruises, Paul also enjoyed fishing, boating, rowing with the Sons of Norway organization, watching good movies, swimming in his pool, snorkeling, trying unique foods, spending time with family and friends, sports cars, motorcycles, good music, comedy, and all things trivia. As of right now, there will not be a service following Paul’s passing. His final wishes were to be cremated and buried at the feet of his father-in-law and mother-in-law with his wife. A service will be scheduled when this becomes appropriate to honor Paul’s final wishes. Paul did not share many other details on how to honor his memory, but the family believes that having a good steak, spending time with the people you love, and maybe taking a special trip somewhere would be a great way to pay homage to Paul’s life. Paul was a very special and important person to most people that he came across; he was truly one of a kind and the world will be a little less bright without him.
