Robert C Lane

Robert “Bob” C Lane, Jr., 67, of Summerville, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2026. Known for his generous spirit, easy way with people, and epic cookouts, Bob lived generously, unhurriedly, and always with room for one more at the table.

Bob had a long career as a subcontractor, taking pride in his work and the relationships he built along the way. But it was the simple pleasures that defined him the most: an afternoon on the golf course, an evening shooting pool, hanging with his grandchildren, or a cold drink on his deck with good company.

Above all, Bob cherished his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Cheryl; his daughters, Carrie (Greg) McCoy and Jennifer Lane (James Wilkinson); his grandchildren, Jacob McCoy, Sadie McCoy, Kalie (Chris) Redd, and Garrett (Sarah) Strickland; three sisters, Carol (Doug) Craig, Linda (Don) Beckham, and Candy (Mike) Stokes; and one brother, David (Jeannie) Lane; many nieces and nephews; and a wide circle of friends who will miss him deeply.

Bob was the kind of man who showed up, shared what he had, and made people feel at home. He will be deeply missed.

Services will be held at Hillcrest Baptist Church June 17, 2026 at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers please  donate to The American Cancer Society.
