Ruth S Vance

Ruth S. Vance, 58, of Ridgeville, SC went home to Jesus on Friday, September 10th, 2026.

Two memorial services will be held in her honor. The first service will be held at Seacoast Church in Summerville SC on Sunday September 27th at 3pm and the second service will be held at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Eldridge IA on Saturday October 10th at 10am.

Ruth was born a daughter of James and Marilyn (Bossen) Helke on July 20th, 1968 in Garden City, MI. Ruth grew up in Davenport IA, Ruth had three children and lived in Dewitt IA, Ruth spent many years working at Genesis in Dewitt as an Environmental Services manager and made many friends. Ruth relocated to South Carolina in 2024 where she enjoyed days on the beach and working at MUSC as an operations manager where she made even more friends. Ruth cherished her Children and her Grandchildren dearly. She loved spending time with her family, being outside and had a very strong faith and love for Jesus.

Those missing her deeply are her children, Megan Smith of Dewitt, IA, Josh (Sarah) Vance of Quantico VA and Rachel (Tristan) Gephart of Ridgeville, SC; Grandchildren: Madison, Mackenzie, Hannah, Elizabeth, Abigail, Rebekah, and Charlotte; Sister, Laurie Bettis of Davenport, IA; Brother, Dave (Carilyn) Bettis of Urbandale, IA; Aunt, Delores of Davenport IA; Nieces, Maren and Krista; and Nephews, Ethan and Kevin

She was preceded in death by her parents; Grandparents, Ruth and Walter Bossen; and her sister, Barbara Ford.
