Steven Carlton Query

Steven Carlton Query, 70, of Summerville, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2026.

Born on October 26, 1955, in Mooresville, North Carolina, Steve was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose greatest joy in life was his family. He shared nearly 50 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Cynthia Byrd Query.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Thelma Inez Query and Charles Owen Query.

Steve is survived by his wife, Cindy; his three daughters, Meredith Query of St. Simons Island, Georgia, Melissa Pearson (Jonathan) of Lyman, South Carolina, and Michelle Sullivan (Jeremy) of Wilmington, North Carolina. He was a proud grandfather to Riley Pearson and Caleb Sullivan and was eagerly awaiting the arrival of his granddaughter, Caroline Sullivan. He is also survived by his sister Phyllis Mills (Michael).

Steve loved spending time on the golf course, keeping up with current events, and enjoying fellowship with his church family at Summerville Baptist Church. He will be remembered for his love of family, steady presence, and kind spirit.

A service celebrating Steve’s life will be held at Summerville Baptist Church on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
