Wayne E. Witt, 87 of Summerville, SC , husband of Margaret Driggers Witt, passed away at home on the morning of June 24, 2026.
Wayne was born on February 7, 1939 to Clarence P. Witt and Carrie Andersen Witt in Marion, Iowa. He served in the US Navy on the USS Everglades as a Radio Man from 1957-1961. Upon discharging from the Navy, he went to work at the Charleston Naval Shipyard and retired in 1993 as a Nuclear Planner and Estimator. Wayne loved his family and friends, John Deere, Iowa Hawkeyes, and Indiana Fever. He also enjoyed collecting coins, $2 bills, and *(star) dollar bills.
In addition to his wife Margaret of 65 years, he is survived by his daughter, Cindy Witt Sistare(Bill) of Summerville, SC and son, Ronald Wayne Witt of Ridgeville, SC. He is also survived by his sisters, Linda Shipley of New Sharon, Iowa and Esther Churchill(Larry) of Marion, Iowa as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Beverly McCulloch, brothers in law, Bob McCulloch and Jerry Shipley.
