Arthur Todd Pierson

Arthur Todd Pierson, 67, of North Charleston, South Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on September 23, 2026. He was born on September 3, 1959, and was raised in Barre, Vermont.Arthur proudly served in the United States Air Force. He later worked at Sumter Metals, where he formed several lifelong friendships, and most recently worked for the State of Vermont as a member of its custodial staff before retiring.He was a kind and gentle man whose greatest joy was his family. A devoted father, he was always there for his children, both when they were growing up and long after they had families of their own. In recent years, he became an even bigger part of the everyday lives of his granddaughters, Aubrie and Lydia. He treasured his time with them, helping with practices and after-school activities, playing catch, sharing family dinners, and watching them grow.He loved bass fishing and just about anything associated with it. He was also remarkably talented with his hands, whether he was building something out of wood, tackling a project around the house, or creating one of his folk art paintings. He loved to sing karaoke, cherished the friendships he made along the way, and always looked forward to visits back to Vermont to spend time with family and friends.A lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, he faithfully cheered them on through the good seasons and the not-so-good ones. He also enjoyed following the South Carolina Gamecocks and the Boston Red Sox.Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Harold Carl Pierson and Phyllis Faye Todd; his daughter, Tiffany Dawn Pierson; and Tiffany’s mother, Teresa Ferst.He is survived by his fiancée, Rose Neddo of North Carolina; his daughter, Jennifer Ridgill, and son-in-law, William, of South Carolina; his son, Brandon Christmas of South Carolina; his granddaughters, Aubrie and Lydia of South Carolina; Jennifer’s mother, Barbara McPherson of South Carolina; his sisters, Donna Murphy (Mark) and Lisa Pierson (Val Rickert), both of Vermont, and Judee Dibbell (Rich) of Florida; his brother, Jeff Pierson (Renee) of Vermont; and his nieces, Melissa Rice and Chelsea Pierson, both of Vermont.Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at noon, with the service immediately following at 1:00 p.m. at Simplicity: Lowcountry Cremation and Burial Services, 7475 Peppermill Parkway, North Charleston, South Carolina 29418.A gathering for family and friends will follow the service at the home of Jennifer and William Ridgill.May Heaven for Arthur be a boat on a quiet lake, where the fish are always biting, the line never breaks, and the people he loved are never far away.
