Clarence Wayne Neikam

Oct 20, 1954 — Jul 2, 2026

Clarence Wayne Neikam, 71, of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026. Born October 20, 1954, he was the cherished son of the late Clarence T. Neikam and Sarah M. (Parent) Neikam.

After high school, Clarence worked for Sun Oil Company as a longshoreman. He never married, but family and home were always his center. He lived close to his parents in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for many years before moving to Charleston in his later years.

A lifelong Philadelphia sports fan, Clarence followed his Eagles, Phillies, and Flyers through every season, wore their hats proudly, and could recite statistics on demand. He loved good music and a good action film — *Top Gun* and *Aquaman* among his favorites.

Above all, Clarence was known for his gentle spirit. A big man with an even bigger heart — sweet, soft-spoken, and quietly kind in a way that put everyone at ease. Those who loved him will remember him as a gentle soul, easy to love and easy to love back.

Clarence is survived by his brother Charles Neikam; his sisters-in-law Diane Neikam, Amanda Neikam, and Josephine Neikam; his son, Brandon L. Neikam; and his nieces and nephews, all of whom held him dear.

He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Harry Neikam, and his sister Victoria Ann Kovalcin.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of Riverside Health and Rehabilitation for the compassion and dignity they gave Clarence during his final years.

Clarence will join his beloved parents in eternal rest at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pennsylvania

*Rest gently, Clarence. You were loved.*
