David Allen Grooms, born January 18, 1959, passed away on August 3, 2026, at the age of 67. David spent the last seven years residing at NHC of Charleston, where he was cared for and supported by those around him. His nurses and caregivers at NHC loved him very much, and their kindness and care meant so much throughout the years.

Before entering the nursing home, David worked as a plumber. He was a fun-loving person with a personality that brought laughter and smiles to those around him. David loved music, parties, and fishing. He loved all kinds of music, and one of the things he especially enjoyed was fishing from the pier at Folly Beach. He loved having a good time and making memories with family and friends.

David is survived by his son, Michael Grooms; his sister, Kim Lowans; his brothers, Robert Grooms (Beverly) and Henry Grooms; his niece, Christy Pardee; nephew, John Pardee; great-niece, Logan Pardee; and great-nephew, Wyatt Pardee. He also leaves behind many beloved cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert A. Grooms; his mother, Annette M. Tillman; and his brother, Jeffrey Mark Grooms.

A graveside memorial service will be held at Carolina Memorial at a later date, followed by a Celebration of Life to honor and remember David. Details will be announced at a later time.

Rest peacefully, David. You will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
