Jannette Allen Mellichamp
Jan 12, 1961 — Sep 29, 2026
Jannette Allen Mellichamp, 65, of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away on September 29, 2026. Jannette was born on January 12, 1961. Throughout her life, her greatest joy was the family she built and the love she shared with those closest to her. Being a mother and grandmother was among the most precious parts of her life. Jannette also found great joy in fishing, a pastime she greatly enjoyed throughout her life. Her pets held a special place in her heart as well. She cherished the time she had with her beloved dog, Bubba, and her cat, Moe, and continued to hold their memories close to her heart after their passing. Jannette was the beloved daughter of Danny K. Long and Rochelle C. Long. She was a devoted mother and grandmother whose family was the greatest love of her life. Jannette was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Philip P. Mellichamp; her mother, Rochelle C. Long; her sister, Donna C. Long; her beloved dog, Bubba; and her cherished cat, Moe. She is survived by her only daughter, Cherie A. Odom, and her husband, Denys Odom; her granddaughter, Grace Oliver; and her grandson, Landen Pauls. Because Cherie was her only child, Jannette and Cherie shared a bond that was truly special and irreplaceable. Their connection was one of a kind—a lifetime of love, memories, laughter, and precious moments that Cherie will carry in her heart forever. Her grandchildren, Grace and Landen, held a very special place in her heart. She loved them dearly and treasured every moment she shared with them. The love she gave them will remain in their hearts forever. Jannette was deeply loved, cherished beyond words, and will be forever missed. Her memory will live on through the family she loved so dearly, the countless lives she touched, and the special memories she created with those she loved. Rest peacefully, MeMe. Your love will stay with us always.
