Richard Charles Williams

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Richard Charles Williams, age 87, September 18th, 2026 at East Cooper Medical Center in Charleston, South Carolina.

He was born March 1st, 1939, in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Mervin and Gladys Williams.

Rich will always be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and coach. He was a good man. He taught his son, daughter, grandchildren, and the children he coached in soccer, softball, and baseball to do the right thing – and to do it right the first time.

Rich is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Jane Louise Williams; his daughter Kim and his son, Rick; his three grandchildren Andrew, Harrison and Nicholas; and his brother John.

The family will announce details of a memorial service and celebration of life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Catman2 organization (www.catman2.org) in honor of Rich’s love for his cats, Oakley and Shelby, and his passion for helping animals.
