Carolyn Annette Roof

Carolyn Annette Roof (Carol), 67, of Cayce, S.C. passed away on December 11, 2025, due to complications associated with a brain injury on November 26, 2025. Carol was a graduate of Brookland Cayce High School and of the University of South Carolina. She retired from Ellis, Lawhorne & Sims, P.A. in October 2014.

She is predeceased by her mother, Jewell Holmes Roof and father, Hubert L. Roof of West Columbia and aunt, Emma Louise Roof and Harold S. Roof of Lexington; Katherine Cullum, Pauline Shealy and Orin E. Holmes. She is survived by numerous cousins, Alton, Bryan, Doug, and Keith Costley; Betty Fenlayson, Nancy Hartley, Brenda Poole, Eddie Roof, and Betty J. Roof.

In her brief retirement, Carol loved to volunteer at several local Nursing Homes, most recently The Pines of West Columbia. She loved her animals, Moses and Stormy. And she enjoyed having friends over for fellowship, especially during the summer months and she loved playing in pool tournaments. Her passion was helping others, especially the elderly, whether it be just holding a hand, giving a hug when needed, listening to a story or just being a friend to someone in need who has no one.

Her friends and family wish to thank the staff at Lexington Hospital, especially the 4th floor for their care and professionalism in treating Carol during the past week.

A memorial service will be held on January 13, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 1273 Calks Ferry Rd, Lexington, SC 29072 with private burial to follow.
