David Michael Wuchenich

Surrounded by family at Lexington Medical Center, David Michael Wuchenich passed away peacefully at age 82 in Lexington, South Carolina, on January 25, 2026. He was born on June 1, 1943, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the son of D. Michael and Julianna Wuchenich.

David was devoted to his family, Colleen (Phillips), his wife of 62 years, sons, Daniel (deceased), and Christopher, and daughters-in-law, Tessa and Kathy and granddaughters, Elly Wuchenich and Kristina (Wuchenich) Davis.

Growing up in Whitehall, a suburb of Pittsburgh, David met his wife at Baldwin High School. They raised their two sons in Upper St. Clair where he actively supported youth sports officiating the baseball and soccer programs and serving on the athletic commission. 

With his son Daniel’s enthusiasm for hockey, David spent many hours at the Mt. Lebanon ice rink and supporting the youth hockey organization.

After running a small engineering support company for seventeen years, David later found great satisfaction as a contract administrator of large construction projects for leading national construction firms. This took him all over the United States working on every phase of construction from manufacturing start-ups to oil field renovations.

When retirement came, he applied all those interests and skills to keeping his home running smoothly, volunteering at church, and helping his family, neighbors and friends. Our beloved David had an amazing sense of humor and razor-sharp wit. He lit up the room and was a friend to all.
