Dwight William (Billy) Stroud

Dwight William (Billy) Stroud passed away at his home on June 3, 2026. He will be missed by those closest to him.

Dwight William Stroud (Billy) was born August 22, 1963, in Augusta, Georgia, to Dwight Theodore Stroud (Ted) and Linda Joyce Collins (Stroud). Billy was a graduate of Bamberg-Ehrhardt High School in Bamberg, SC, where he was a member of the golf team as well as a member of the marching band. After high school, Billy served in the United States Coast Guard for 4 years. After serving in the Coast Guard, Billy worked for the South Carolina Department of Corrections and later with the Capital Police in Columbia, SC. Most recently, Billy worked for Ryan Brewer Enterprises LLC in Lexington County, SC.

Billy was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Collins (Stroud), father, Dwight Theodore Stroud (Ted), and brother, Alexander Stroud (Alex).

Billy is survived by his daughter, Shelby Colleen Stroud of Irmo, SC; brothers James Sandifer Stroud (Sandy) of Branchville, SC; Michael Scott Stroud (Scott) of Cordova, SC; Andrew Stroud of Lexington; and his beloved companion, Dash. 

There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
