Evelyn K Branham

Evelyn K Branham, 86, of Columbia, South Carolina passed away July 29, 2026. Evelyn was the daughter of the late Leroy (Roy) Knight and Bessie McLeod Knight.

Celebration of Life will be held on Friday August 7, 2026, with visitation at 11:00 am and service at 12:00pm, at Beulah Methodist Church, 1577 Old State Rd, Gaston, S.C. 29053,

Evelyn was a well-known hair stylist in the Forest Acres area for over 50 years. She had devoted clients who came from all around to experience her exceptional talent, warm spirit, and personal touch. Her loyal clientele remained by her side for decades, a testament to the lasting relationships she built.

Evelyn will be dearly missed by all that loved her and forever remember for her contagious laugh, sense of humor, love for dancing, and love for a Pepsi and Snickers Bar.

She is survived by her daughter Michele and "favorite son-in-law" Michael Knight of St. Matthews, granddaughters Madison and Ellie Waites of Columbia, sister Delores Braxton of Columbia and sister-in-law Carol Knight of VA., a dear friend of the family Barbara Jean Pate and survived by many nieces and nephews that love Aunt Evelyn dearly.

She was predeceased by her son Gene Waites, grandson Stephen Waites, brothers Harold G., John W., Roy E., and Eddie G. Knight, sisters Theresa Burnett, and Daisy Knight.

The family would also like to express their sincere gratitude to all her friends, neighbors, and all who cared for Evelyn with such kindness, dignity and compassion will never be forgotten.
