James W "Jamey" Fox, III

James W. Fox III, better known to his family and friends as "Jamey," age 60, of West Columbia, SC, passed away on October 13, 2026, with his family by his side.

Jamey was preceded in death by his parents, James Fox, Jr. and Joan Fleming Farris. He is survived by his sister, Danialle Vesser (Drew); his nephews, Josh Vesser (Kate), Jared Vesser (Alex), and Sam Vesser; his great-nephew, Everett, and great-niece, Elsie, children of Josh and Kate; his aunt, Debra "Ann" Thornley, with whom he made his home; and his cousins, Billy Orris and Amy Orris.

Jamey could light up a room with his smile. He had a terrific sense of humor, which was usually on the snarky side. Creativity was a big part of his life, and he had a gift for making things beautiful, whether in his work in the service industry or in a hobby. When he was well enough, he loved to work in his yard.

He had great love for his family, friends, and animals, especially his dogs. His nephews meant the world to him, as did his great-nephew and new great-niece. Spoiling them had become his newest hobby.

A graveside service will be held Friday, November 13, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. at Honey Creek Woodlands, 2625 Highway 212 SW, Conyers, GA 30094. There will be no reception following the service. Casual attire is welcome, fitting for the natural, wooded setting.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Providence Home in Columbia, SC.
