Jason Andrew Heckart

Jason Andrew Heckart, 50, of Columbia, South Carolina, passed away on May 8, 2026, at Prisma Health Richland in Columbia, South Carolina.

Jason was born on September 7, 1975, in Fort Jackson, South Carolina, to Stephen and Brenda (Smith) Heckart.

Jason was known for his love of computers and PC gaming, music, reading, and spending time with his beloved pets. He found joy in the simple things and will be remembered for his kind heart, unique spirit, and the relationships he cherished throughout his life.

He is survived by his mother, Brenda Mullins, and stepfather, Billy Mullins; his father, Stephen Heckart, and stepmother, Stephanie Heckart; his brother, Seth Heckart, and sister-in-law, Diana Heckart, and their son Noah, his sister, Heather Helms, and brother-in-law, Matt Helms, his sister, Jamie Mazzoccoli, and brother-in-law, Julian Mazzoccoli; his brother, Jacob Heckart, and sister-in-law, Jenna; his brother, Joshua Adams; his niece, Emma; his nephew, Easton; his niece, Caitlin Mazzoccoli, and her husband, Nicholas Santoyo; his best friend, Donald Allen; his grandmother, Lanette Smith; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, extended family members, and many cherished coworkers and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Richard Smith.

Jason’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
