Linda L. Brooks Sweet passed peacefully on July 16, 2026, after a lengthy illness, with her daughter by her side.
She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, David G. Sweet; her parents, Thomas Brooks and Christine Brooks Ryan; and her sisters, Jeanne Pintarelli and Christine Lee Roy (Jack).
She is survived by her children, Sherrie L Sweet and her husband, Roger E. Iverson of Lexington, SC, Lorie Ann Silva and her partner, Michael Mahan of Seabrook NH, and her son, David Sweet II and his partner, Kristin Atkins of Dunstable MA. Along with her grandchildren, Sydnë Goller (Brandon), Reed Talbot (Ana), Jeffrey Silva (Alexis), Stefanaé Bowen (Christopher), Bradley Silva (Bea), David Sweet III (Ashlyn), and Sarah Gambrell (Andrew) Liberty Atkins and Blake Atkins.
She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, Finnegan, Brynleigh, Savannah, Nayeli, Sullivan, Leanora, David IV and Brooke, as well as many nieces and nephews, her sister, Dottie Kennemer (Robert), brother, Terry Ryan (Sybil), brother-in-law, Ernest Sweet (Kathy), sister’s in-law, June Sweet, Beverly Farris (Jack) and predeceased, by Judy Sweet.
Special mention should also be made to the Hoare’s, the Rooney’s and Gail Bittig who she considered family.
Linda enjoyed her many travels with her husband. She loved meeting new people and mostly enjoyed being in Antigua. She loved entertaining and cooking. She was a very social person who loved interacting with others and especially loved a good card or board game where she could boast her competitive spirit.
A celebration of life will be hosted by her children at a later date.
Linda will be loved and missed greatly.
