Margaret "Peggie" Wade

Our beloved mother and grandmother, Margaret Elaine Wade, lovingly known as “Peggie,” peacefully passed away at her daughter’s home on December 17, 2025.

Peggie was born on December 10, 1945, to James C. Kennedy and Margaret E. Hailstork Kennedy. She grew up in Pittsburgh, PA, where she was baptized at a young age at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church and graduated from Westinghouse High School. Her life journey took her from Pittsburgh to Cleveland, then to California, where she spent many years in real estate. Outside of her career, she found great happiness in travelling, gardening, watching historical documentaries and, most importantly, football. In 2006, she relocated to South Carolina to be closer to her grandchildren, a move that brought her great joy. 

Peggie was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 37 years, Carl Wade; daughter, Nichole Kennedy; and sister, Alberta Snowden. She is survived by her daughter, Candace Harbrecht (Joel); grandchildren, Princess Kennedy, Laricco Kennedy, Anjeline Lynch, and Aliyah Lynch; great-granddaughter, Brandi Hicks; and three great-great-grandsons. She is also survived by brothers, James Kennedy (Carole) and Walker Kennedy (Linda); sister, June Nelson (James); nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Peggie will be remembered for her fun-loving nature, doting on her family, and the pride she took in each generation that followed her. Her legacy lives on through the lives she touched and the family she cherished so dearly.

We will celebrate her journey home with a memorial service on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Boyd Hill Baptist Church, 315 Glenn Street, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
