Mary Niceley Cook

Nov 2, 1945 — Sep 18, 2025

Mary Niceley Cook of Lexington, South Carolina went home to the Lord and Savior on September 18, 2025.

Mary was devoted first to Jesus and second to her family. She was born in Danville, Kentucky to the late Rev. John B. and Martha S. Niceley. She married the love of her life, Mack Dale Cook, on June 20, 1964. They had three boys – all her “favorites” – Danny, Stephen, and Michael. Mary was a loyal charter member of Round Hill Baptist Church since its opening in 1979.  She was a talented musician and used that ability to serve as pianist at Round Hill. Prior to serving at Round Hill, she was the organist at Lexington Baptist.

She is survived by her husband Dale; her three sons, Danny, Stephen and Michael (Laura); her grandchildren, Hannah (Christian), Peyton, Emmelia, Mallie, Tyler (Rachel) and Baylee; and by her “sweethearts” - her great grandchildren, Martha-Ann and Walker Hinson. She is also survived by her beloved sister Margaret O’Shea, sister-in-law Betty DeShong (Fred), brother-in-law James Cook (Cecilia), sister-in-law Carol Ann Cook, and many loving nieces and nephews and precious dear friends

She is preceded in death by her wonderful parents, loving mother-in-law Dessie Dae Richardson Cook, and father-in-law Mack Daniel Cook.

The family will have a celebration of life on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 2 PM at Round Hill Baptist Church, 230 Persimmon Lane, Lexington, SC 29072 and will receive visitors following the service.
