He was also an active member in his community, he was part of the Road Association in his neighborhood, coached wrestling at Mitchell Junior High and was a member of the El Dorado County Fair Board. He leaves behind his son, Craig Clougher of Oregon, his son, Scott Clougher (Jane Ann) and their children, Sean and Lily Ann of Columbia, South Carolina. Along with his nieces, Stacey Larson, Nicole Workman and his nephew, Kyle Grey (Penny Rittenhouse) and great-nieces, Sydney Larson and Zoey Grey and great-nephews, Jaxon Larson and Aiden Grey all of California and many, many friends Mike considered family on both the East and West coast.

Before his passing Mike requested not to have a memorial service. His final wishes were that everyone remember him by sharing a good story, and having a good laugh with a good Irish drink in hand.
