Patricia Farrow Butler

Patricia Farrow Butler peacefully passed away at home on March 10, 2026, in Columbia, South Carolina, at the age of 72.

Born on February 14, 1954, in Belhaven, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late John Gordon Thomas and Margaret Barrow Thomas. Patricia is survived by her brother, John Gordon Thomas, Jr. (Judy) of Aberdeen, Maryland.

After graduating from Northeastern High School, Elizabeth City, NC, she moved to the town of Buxton, NC on Hatteras Island. She loved living on the North Carolina Outer Banks where she enjoyed the beaches. She served as a manager and co-manager for several local restaurants on Hatteras Island and worked part-time for the United States Postal Service (USPS). She moved to Columbia, SC for a full-time position with the USPS where she worked 30 plus years as a postal clerk. Her love for Hatteras Island never ended. Even after moving to South Carolina, she kept her North Carolina home until 2023.

A Celebration of Life to honor Patricia will be held at a later date.
