Patrick Allen McCartin
Sep 5, 1957 — Oct 11, 2026
Patrick Allen McCartin was born Sept 5, 1957 in Redding, California, and passed away October 11, 2026 at the age of 69, in Columbia, South Carolina.
After being diagnosed with cancer within one month of each other, Pat's beloved dog of 10 years, Me Too, passed away just nine days before him. Unknowingly to Pat, Me Too was already there, waiting for his human to join him on the other side. We hope and believe they are now able to play and run, free from the pain and restrictions that lung disease causes.
Pat is preceded in death by his son, Dallas McCartin (1983), his mother, Alice McCartin (2004), and his father, Richard McCartin (1971). He is survived by his son and daughter, Carson and Dianne and four grandchildren: Zachary, Sierra, Serenity, and Delilah.
Pat worked his full career in construction and heavy machinery operations. He enjoyed being at the job site, having long term friendships with coworkers, running the machines, and giving rides to his grandkids.
In healthier days, riding snowmobiles was a favorite activity. Recent loves included spending time with his granddaughters, laying in bed watching TV with Me Too, listening to music, drinking his Dr. Pepper, and trying to enjoy his days of retirement. He had hoped to go on a train ride through the mountains before he was too ill, but was unable to make that trip.
Pat had lots of fun in his younger years. He played hard, and lived harder. Each and every day, his stubborn, grumpy old-man self will absolutely be missed. We hope you and Me Too are out there hunting the Bigfoot, Dad. We love and miss you.
