He served numerous churches in the West Virginia Annual Conference and was the State Coordinator for Youth Ministry for four years. Additionally, he was the founding Administrator of Boone County Health Care in Madison, WV.
After relocating to South Carolina, he worked as a Nursing Home Administrator. He later studied to become a Certified Correctional Prison Chaplain and served in that role from 1988 to 2007. His service of 17+ years as a Chaplain of the Department of Corrections was blessed by the volunteers of the Kairos Ministry. Following his retirement, he remained active in service at Union United Methodist Church.
He was a devoted pastor whom God used to help guide others to claim the Christian faith. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, whose life was marked by kindness, wisdom, and unwavering faith.
These few lines in an obituary do not fully encompass a life well-lived, filled with family travels, cherished moments with friends, and both everyday joys and struggles.
We are grateful for the many years we were blessed to have him in our lives and for the legacy of faith, love, and compassion he leaves behind.
