In Loving Memory

Steven Paul Marlow was born to Norwood P. Marlow and Doris Smith Marlow in Newberry, SC. His early life was filled with adventure and change. As a young child, his family moved to Augusta, ME where he lived until moving back to SC around 1958.  Steven’s life was consistently filled with adventure, curiosity, acts of kindness and compassion as well as untold challenges.

Steven’s work history spanned several fields, reflecting his abilities to adapt to many of life’s challenges. He worked at the VA Hospital and at Palmetto Richland Hospital (Prisma) as a nurse technician, in an optician’s office as a skilled craftsman, and in the investment section of a Columbia brokerage firm handling buy and sell orders. His interests were varied but he carried on his father’s legacy and interest in New England maritime artifacts and scrimshaw. Steven also loved animals. Neighbors heard stories about a pet monkey, birds and numerous cats and dogs – often concurrently. His love of all things living highlighted his compassion that was at the core of his character.

Steven was predeceased by his father and mother and leaves behind his sister Debby Jane Marlow, a niece Erin Mills (Myrtle Beach) and great-nephews Gabriel Victor and Gideon Vincent Roark (Indianapolis IN) as well as many other loved ones, including family and friends from around the United States.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the late Summer/early Fall. For more information, email: [email protected] to be included for future notifications.
