Thomas Ardis "Tag" Gunter

Thomas Ardis "Tag" Gunter, 66 of Blackstock, South Carolina, passed away on August 5, 2026.

He was born on September 4, 1959, in Winnsboro, South Carolina. He was the son of the late James A. Gunter and the late Glennie Porter Gunter. He was the husband of the late Mary Beth Gwin Gunter.

Tag attended schools in Winnsboro, South Carolina prior to beginning his work career with Cinderella Knitting. In addition, he held numerous other jobs for 35 years as a heavy equipment operator until his retirement.

Tag was a brother to Donald A Gunter (deceased), James A. Gunter, Jr. (deceased), Bernice G. Cupstid (deceased), Sandra G. Haskins, Muriel G. Leonhardt, John B. Gunter, B. Lane Gunter, and Samuel G. Banister. Tag is survived by his son, Thomas A. Gunter, Jr., and one grandson, Caleb Gunter.

Tag was a small engine repairman and enjoyed his many animals through the years, especially dogs and horses. He leaves behind his trusty canine companions, Chloe and Blue, along with the many stray cats that found a meal at his place. In addition, Tag enjoyed communicating with his many Facebook friends throughout the years.
