Virginia (Rae) Frick Haltiwanger

Virginia (Rae) Frick Haltiwanger, 88 of Little Mountain, SC passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones on Wednesday August 12, 2026.

She was born September 12, 1938, in Little Mountain, SC to the late Forrest Lee and Helen Lucile (White) Frick. She attended and graduated from Little Mountain School where she played on the basketball team. She married the love of her life, Douglas Luther Haltiwanger, Sr. on December 21, 1958. They were married 22 wonderful years. She worked at BellSouth, AT&T and the Department of Health and Human Services where she retired.

She is survived by her children, Pamela H. Childers (Joe), Melanie H. McKie (Mac) and Douglas Luther Haltiwanger, Jr. (Jackie). Her grandchildren, Vicki Chadwick, Jordan Gordan, Carrie Haltiwanger, Clarrisa Haltiwanger and her great-grandchildren, Kenzee Chadwick, Kaylee Chadwick and Natalee Gordan.

She was predeceased by the love of her life, Douglas L Haltiwanger, Sr., and her granddaughter, Jenny Childers.

Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 11:00 am at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 900 Dreher Island Rd, Chapin, SC 29036. The family will receive visitors at the church in the fellowship hall after the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in her memory may be made to Oliver Gospel Mission, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and St. Peter Lutheran Church (Help Fund).
