Myra Patterson

February 9, 1956 - September 4, 2026

Myra Patterson, 70, of Saint Paul, Minnesota, originally from Slidell, Louisiana, passed away suddenly Friday, September 4, 2026 while spending a day at the Minnesota State Fair with her husband, James Patterson.

Myra was born on February 9, 1956 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Isiah Sanders and Ruby Sanders.

Myra was a dedicated hard worker starting out as an administrative assistant, but ended her career as a paraprofessional within the Saint Paul Public School District before retiring.

In December 1988, she met James Patterson and the two were inseparable from that point on. Myra and James were married over 36 years and have 4 children, Danielle Sanders, Juzel Sanders, Solomon Patterson, and Rahmaan Patterson.

Myra was a fiercely dedicated mom to all of her children (biological or adopted by love). Family was always at the heart of her life, a love and devotion she held above all else and a value she lovingly instilled in everyone around her. Her presence was a source of strength, warmth, and togetherness, and the space left by her absence is one that can never truly be filled. Though she is no longer with us, the love she gave and the family she nurtured will remain her lasting legacy.

Myra was preceded by her parents; her brothers, James Pichon, Joseph Pichon, and LeRoy Pichon; her sister, Barbara Jean Pierre; and her granddaughter, Nyelah Sanders.

Myra is survived by her brothers, Allen Sanders (Linda), and Kevin Sanders; sisters, Carolyn Sanders, and Debra Sanders; daughters, Danielle Sanders, and Juzel Sanders, sons, Solomon Patterson (Courtney), and Rahmaan Patterson; grandchildren, Jabrel Sanders, Akili Crawford, Da’Zhan Wilson, Ishaan Crawford, Samone Horace, Aruan Campa Jr, and Breece Patterson; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; and a host of friends.

Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date
