Betty Jean Phillips

Nov 12, 1945 — Jul 7, 2026

Betty Jean Phillips, of Winter Haven, Florida, passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord after a courageous journey with dementia.

Born on November 12, 1945, in Carnesville, Georgia, Betty lived a life marked by faith, love, and unwavering devotion to her family. She had a caring heart, a gentle spirit, and a gift for making people feel at home. She found joy in caring for those she loved, sharing meals around the table, and building a home filled with warmth and laughter.

Betty was the devoted wife of Dan Phillips. Together they shared 55 years of marriage, walking through life’s joys and hardships side by side. Their marriage was a testimony of faithfulness, commitment, and enduring love.

She was a loving mother to her daughters, Marilyn Lester (Jeff Lester) and Angela Campbell, and her son, Scott Phillips (Angie Phillips). She was also a proud grandmother and great-grandmother who treasured every moment spent with her family. Nothing brought her greater joy than seeing those she loved together.

Her faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life. She loved the Lord, loved her family deeply, and found comfort in the old gospel hymns she enjoyed singing throughout the years. Even during her battle with dementia, the love she had shared throughout her life remained evident to those who cared for her.

Though her family mourns her passing, they rejoice in knowing she is now healed, whole, and in the presence of her Savior. The confusion and struggles of dementia are gone, and she now enjoys the perfect peace promised to those who place their faith in Christ.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23

Betty’s legacy of faith, love, kindness, and devotion to her family will continue to live on in the lives of those she loved so dearly.
