Charlene Rene'e Rees
Aug 18, 1945 — Sep 10, 2026
Charlene Renee Rees, lovingly known as Renee, passed away from natural causes on September 10, 2026, in Boise, Idaho, at the age of 81.
Early Life
Renee was born on August 18, 1945, in Wendell, Idaho, to LeRoy Pearman and Neta Lois Pearman. She was raised on the family farm alongside her older sister, Marlene, younger brother, John, and younger sister, Joanna.
Growing up on the farm gave Renee many cherished memories of country life. Among them was her beloved cow, Honey, who held a very special place in her heart and remained a treasured part of her childhood memories.
Renee graduated from Meridian High School. She had a love for dance and studied it for six years. She later attended St. Al’s Catholic Nursing School for three years.
Career
Renee went on to work as a registered nurse for many years and eventually retired from Mountain View Medical Center.
Marriage and Family
On December 28, 1967, Renee married the love of her life, Charles Edward “Ed” Rees. Together, they built a life centered around their family, faith, and the people they loved.
In 1972, Renee and Ed built a home in Eagle, Idaho. That home became the heart of their family, and Renee remained there with Ed until his passing.
Renee and Ed were blessed with four daughters: Stacey, Stefani, Shellee, and Shari. Their family continued to grow, eventually including 13 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Renee loved nothing more than gathering with family, especially during holidays. Some of the family's most cherished memories were made at the family cabin in McCall, as well as during trips to Lagoon and Disneyland.
Renee and Ed also shared a love of RVing and traveling. They enjoyed exploring and making memories with family and friends, especially with Renee's sister Marlene and her husband, Merlin. These trips and gatherings created countless stories and memories that her family will treasure for years to come.
Faith and Service
Faith was an important and enduring part of Renee’s life. She was an active and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her entire life.
Throughout her years as a member of the Church, Renee held many callings and found great joy in serving others. Among her favorite callings were working in the Nursery, serving in Young Women, and teaching the youth. Her love for people and her desire to serve made working with children and youth especially meaningful to her.
Renee truly loved people. During her many years in the Eagle area, she formed numerous lifelong friendships. Her genuine love for others and her ability to make and maintain lasting friendships became an important part of the legacy she leaves behind.
Those Who Preceded Her
Renee was preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy and Neta Lois Pearman; her in-laws, Carlos and Lola Rees; her beloved husband, Charles Edward “Ed” Rees; her niece, Ashly Terrell; her nephew, Scott Pearman; her brother-in-law, Jim; and her sisters-in-law, Sharon Rees, Ellie Rees, and Leola Rees.
Renee leaves behind a lifetime of love, faith, family, friendships, service, travel, and cherished memories that will continue to live on through the generations.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
