Christina Effie Diane Kuemin

Christine "Chris" Kuemin passed away peacefully on August 4, 2026, following a brief illness. She leaves behind a legacy defined by her vibrant spirit, her deep faith, and an boundless love for her family.

Born on July 19, 1949, in Rapid City, South Dakota, Chris was the eldest of five siblings. Her childhood was filled with the lively energy of growing up alongside her three brothers and her sister. After graduating from high school, she channeled her innate sense of style and warmth into beauty college, launching a successful, lifelong career in cosmetology and women’s fashion sales.

In 1968, Chris married her high school sweetheart, Ken Farmer, in the Idaho Falls Temple. Together, they welcomed five beautiful daughters into the world. In 1971, the young family moved to Boise, Idaho. Chris was a devoted mother who filled her daughters' lives with adventure. She loved taking the family camping, enjoying water sports, and exploring the serene beauty of nature, especially around Lowman and Stanley. Her heart was always drawn to the peace of Idaho's mountain lakes.

Her faith as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was the anchor of her life, guiding her steps with grace and devotion. In 1992, Chris entered a new season of life. She brought her joyful personality to the Clinique counter at Macy’s in the Boise Mall, where she spent her final ten years of work making every customer feel truly special. She retired in 2014 to fully immerse herself in her favorite role: being a grandmother.

In 2002, Chris found love again and married Rick Kuemin, gladly embracing his son and daughter as her own. In 2004, Chris and Rick were sealed in the Boise Temple, marking the beginning of a beautiful, adventurous chapter. Together, they traveled the world, exploring Europe, Hawaii, the western Caribbean, Scotland, Canada, and the vast expanse of the United States. Chris possessed a passionate wanderlust, aiming to experience all 50 states and every National Park.

When they weren't traveling, Chris and Rick found their paradise in Lowman, Idaho, where they built a cozy, humble cabin in 2005. The cabin became the heart of the family—a joyful gathering place for birthdays, holidays, and spontaneous visits from children, grandchildren, and dear friends. It was a launching pad for trips to Stanley and the South Fork of the Payette River. Many of Chris's birthdays were celebrated there just the way she liked: filled with dancing, laughter, and the sweet sound of her brothers singing.

Chris was a remarkably talented woman. When she wasn't on the road or surrounded by family, she could be found shopping or expressing her creativity through painting. She possessed a genuinely big heart and a rare warmth that left a lasting, positive impression on everyone she met.

She was, and will always remain, the Guiding Light of her family.

Chris is survived by her devoted husband, Rick; her three brothers and one sister; her six daughters and stepdaughters; her stepson; and her beautiful legacy of 24 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Her bright light will be profoundly missed, but her love lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.
