Gary Dennis Bond

Gary Dennis Bond, beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus on Thursday September 10, 2026. Born April 25, 1964, in Florence, Oregon, Gary faced the challenges of cerebral palsy from birth, yet he never allowed his physical limitations to define him. Throughout his life, he demonstrated remarkable resilience, kindness, and an unwavering positive spirit that touched everyone who knew him.

In 2015, Gary moved to Boise, Idaho, to be closer to his parents and sister Brenda. He made his home at Timber Springs Transitional Care, where he became a familiar and cherished presence. Gary loved beginning each day with a cup of coffee and could often be found seated near the front entrance, greeting residents, staff, and visitors with a warm smile, friendly conversation, and a "How are you doing?"

Gary was beloved by the staff at Timber Springs and will be greatly missed. A caregiver fondly remarked, "I was deeply saddened by the news this morning of Gary’s passing. As you know, Gary was my absolute favorite. I know he is watching sports, eating, drinking and rejoicing.” Gary’s warmth, caring nature, and positive outlook brightened the lives of countless people and left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Gary was an avid sports fan and loved talking about his favorite teams including Boise State, the Oregon Ducks, Seattle Seahawks and Mariners. During his younger

days, he was an accomplished bowler and athlete and competed at the International Special Olympics in New York where he received a bronze medal in the softball throw.

Gary is survived by his sister, Brenda Garber, and her husband, Rich, of Eagle, Idaho; and by his nephews, Jordan Rainwater of Oceanside, California, and Jacob Rainwater of Eagle, Idaho, as well as extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gary and Sherry Bond.

Though Gary lived with significant physical and health challenges, he met each day with courage, gratitude, and a joyful spirit that inspired those around him. He is now reunited with loved ones and rests in the eternal embrace of his Savior.

A graveside service and burial will held at Pacific Sunset Cemetery in Florence, Oregon on Friday September 25th at 1:00 p.m., for family and friends that would like to attend. A memorial service celebrating Gary's life will be held at a future date in Florence, pending arrangements.
