Jolene Kaeppner

Oct 1, 1936 — Jun 5, 2026

Jolene (Evans) Kaeppner, 89 years old, opened her eyes with joy in the arms of her savior Jesus Christ on June 5, 2026.

Jolene was born on October 1st, 1936 to John Clifford Evans and Felma Luvella Evans in Star, Idaho. She was the eldest of 2 children. The family lived in Star until 1951 when the family moved to a ranch just outside of McCall. Jolene and her sister Gerry had to get up every morning and collect eggs and other chores around the farm.

Jolene enjoyed high school and attended McCall-Donnelley High School where she had many friends, lettered in basketball and was homecoming queen. She graduated in 1954 then attended business school in Phoenix and Boise. Jolene then went to work for KBOI TV and radio as receptionist and then scheduling programs for TV and radio. In 1956 Jolene and some friends were at the Western Idaho Fair where she ran into a former classmate, Joseph Kaeppner who was 2 years her senior. From there they began a courtship of 2 years until they were married on June 28th, 1958. She left KBOI in 1960 to be a full time homemaker where she created a loving home for her family. Over the years she enjoyed time spent with family at the Oregon Coast, watching BSU games with friends and bible studies.

Jolene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joe of 67 years, sons Jeffery and Daniel. She is survived by her son Jim (Robin) Kaeppner, granddaughter Nikkie Kaeppner Youngblood, grandson Travis Kaeppner and sister Gerry Ross and numerous nieces and nephews.
