Michael E. March

Michael E. March, 87, passed unexpectedly on July 7, 2026, of a heart attack while working in his beautiful yard.

Mike was born and raised in Boise, Idaho, where he remained throughout his life. He graduated from Boise High School in 1956 before enlisting in the Army. He proudly completed 22 years of service in the Army National Guard.

Mike’s parents, Marjorie and Claude E. March, instilled in him the values of honesty and hard work, principles that guided him throughout his life.

At the age of 13, Mike entered the workforce with Boise Stone & Tile, where he learned the trade of laying tile and developed a lifelong appreciation for the beauty of natural stone. He later founded Gem State Stone and eventually Mike’s Stone Supply, where his affable nature, creative eye, and genuine love of people led not only to successful business relationships but to many lifelong friendships.

In 1979, Mike married the love of his life, Denise. Together they shared 46 wonderful years, navigating the blessings and challenges of a blended family and creating a lifetime of memories through work, travel, laughter, and countless adventures.

Mike loved all things outdoors—whether quarrying stone for his business, logging wood, camping, hunting, fishing, or tending to the sanctuary-like yard he and Denise created together.

His family affectionately referred to him as “The Energizer Bunny” because of his boundless energy. Even through physical challenges, Mike maintained his remarkable work ethic and vigor right up to the very end.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his older brother. He is survived by his wife, Denise; his sons, David, John and Jay; his cherished grandchildren, Sienna, Sam, and Nicki; his sister, Marion; and his brother, Tim.

Mike will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, generous spirit, enduring friendships, and the quiet example he set of a life well lived.
