Robert J. Hurst

Robert J. Hurst passed away peacefully on October 5, 2026 at the age of 82, surrounded by the love of family and the comfort of faith. Robert was a devoted Catholic, loving family member, and trusted friend whose life was shaped by prayer and service.

Born on September 14, 1944 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to a Polish Immigrant Mother and Police Detective Father, he lived with a deep faith and strong sense of justice. He graduated from University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee and achieved an MBA later in his career. He served his Country for 20 years in the United States Air Force, and during the Vietnam War earned several medals including the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medals, Joint Service Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross. He retired from the Military in Idaho to return to his passion for the outdoors and pursue a Career in Healthcare Administration.

Robert found peace in attending Mass at St John’s Cathedral in Boise and St. Catherine’s in Kamiah, Idaho, praying the rosary, and being active in the church community.

Robert is survived by his wife, two sons, three grandchildren, his brother and sister who loved him deeply. Robert’s memory and faith will remain a blessing to all who knew him.
