Donna Kennedy Granowicz
Apr 25, 1943 — Aug 21, 2026
Donna Kennedy Granowicz, 83, resident of Apollo Beach, FL passed away peacefully in her home on August 21, 2026 surrounded by her family overlooking Bal Harbor.
She was born April 25,1943 on the province of Prince Edward Island, Canada where she spent the first 13 years of her life with her mother and three sisters before migrating to the United States where she pursued a career as a beautician in Richmond, Virginia. She met her husband Don at the age of 27 and after just one date she told her coworkers that if she ever got married she had met the man she was going to marry. Just six months later they got engaged on Christmas and married the following year on May 1, 1971. Their children Vic and Christie were both born in Richmond on November 11, 1972 and November 10, 1974. Over the next 10 years Donna strongly supported her husband as they moved from Richmond to Indianapolis, Indiana, then Cincinnati, Ohio and Waverly, Iowa before settling in Tampa, Florida in 1985 where they bought a crane rental business. Lands End Marina came along in 1997 followed by Circles Waterfront Restaurant in 1998. Donna was an integral part of our family restaurant and will forever be remembered by all for her famous desserts that she baked for over 20 years. Though petite, quiet and unassuming, if you ever had the pleasure of knowing her you couldn’t help but love her. She was selfless, she was kind and she loved like no other. Donna was the true definition of what a sister, a wife, a mother and a nana should be. She adored her children and her grandchildren and made so many beautiful memories with her family that will be cherished forever. Heaven gained an angel today, but we are at peace knowing that she is wrapped in the Lord’s arms and no longer in pain. Until we meet again she will remain forever in our hearts.
She was preceded in death by her mother Doris Gilbert and her sisters Barbara Dawson and Kathryn Kennedy.
She is survived by her husband Donald Granowicz and their two children Vic and Christie Granowicz. Three grandchildren Cassidy, Gavin and Jace. Her sister Jean Barnette (Tony). Her nieces Rachel Swartz (Rob), Cynthia Wells (Bob) and Michelle Mallory. Her nephew Paul Mallory (Vilma) and her great niece Jessica Swartz (Max).
