Francisco “Frankie” Rotger
Aged 86
Born September 22, 1939, in Santurce, San Juan, Puerto Rico, to Julia and Francisco Rotger.
Frank grew up in the Lower East Side of New York and spent many happy years rooting for the Yankees in Staten Island, New York, before retiring to Sun City Center, FL, where he passed away on August 8, 2026.
He is survived by his wife, Cathey Sandquist; two sisters, Ida Rosario and Julie Valentin; his loving nephew, Domminic, and his wife, Kendra; daughter, Denise Cifra; a son; five grandchildren, including Amber Rose and her husband, Jay; and four great-grandchildren.
Frankie was an avid racquetball player for many years and President of the Lions Club, Staten Island. He was given the honor of “Contractor of the Year” in 1993 in New York City for his work with his company, Santurce Construction.
Frank died peacefully after a short illness while living under the wonderful care of the Aviata Rehab Facility. He was surrounded by his family and truly loved.
