James Clarence Yaksic

James C. Yaksic, 93, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 1, 2026 in Brandon, Florida. Waiting with open arms to welcome him home were his wife Shirley and son Ken.

Jim was born and raised in Brownsville, Pennsylvania, on December 18, 1932. He traveled the world as a career soldier before settling in the Brandon area with his family. In addition to his wife and son, Jim was predeceased by his parents Matthew and Isabelle Yaksic; brothers Ken, Matt, Tom, Albert, and Bill; and his sister Nellie Newhouse. Surviving family include his sister Florence Conn of Michigan; his daughter-in-law Amanda Yaksic who provided him with loving care during his last years; and many nieces and nephews and their families who will miss their Uncle Jim.

Jim was a kind and generous man who enjoyed sharing stories of his many adventures with family and friends. He was full of laughter and mischief and always ready for a glass of wine with special friends, Leslie and Matthews, and Jim and Susan Whitehurst.

A military burial honored Jim for his many years of service to his country. He was laid to rest with his wife and son at Florida National Cemetery.
