Mary Jane Parrish

August 21, 1935 — June 7, 2026

Parrish, Mary Jane, born in Ybor City, Florida in 1935 to Henry and Josephine Parrino (nee Collura) passed away Sunday, June 7, 2026. She was a resident of Tampa and more recently Sun City Center. She is survived by her children, Dean Calhoun and Janice Thiel and her husband, Michael; grandsons, Henry and Finnley; sisters, Frances Martinez and Louise Barron; and an abundance of cousins, nieces, and nephews. 

After graduating from Jefferson High School in 1953, Mary Jane went on to secretarial school to learn typing and shorthand, and then worked for Martino Real Estate in Ybor City for 40 years, retiring in 1994. Mary Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Parrish, who passed away in 2015. Mary Jane and Dennis volunteered for Meals On Wheels, and enjoyed square and round dancing for over 25 years, including with the Temple Twirlers. Mary Jane spent many joyful years line dancing in Kings Point, being "Nani" to her two grandsons, and spoiling family with delicious meals prepared with loving hands. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on the 91st anniversary of Mary Jane’s birth: Friday, August 21, 2026, 9:30 a.m. at the Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, Florida. Family and friends should arrive at the cemetery 30 minutes prior to the service. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to LifePath Hospice Sun City Center, 3723 Upper Creek Drive, Ruskin, Florida 33573.
